2. my project is inspired by the mood of frankenstein (lonliness) but i put a twist on it. the script i am writing for it is inspired by the poems we've read in class and the mood is based on the paintings by john martin. it is kind of dark sounding, but has a lot of connections with Romanticism. the aspect of comfort in nature, dreams, and inner solitude.
2. I would like to write (and perform) a peice of music that is inpsired by Frankenstein. It will be based off the journey of the creature as he transforms from an innocent being to a vengful monster.
1. A poetry book 2. The poems will be from character's point of view, responding to other character's words, thoughts, or actions. I'm not sure exactly which characters or how many poems there will be yet, but I want to use Miranda responding to Ariel's gift of the guitar from "With a Guitar, To Jane," and Cathy to her mother or father in Wuthering Heights Shelby
1. A drawing/painting 2. My drawing will be of a scene from Faust when Faust is in his study surrounded by books. The drawing will incorporate many Romantic aspects along with the chosen scene.:)
1. A collection of poems 2. From every major Romantic piece of literature we've studied this semester, I want to write a poem from the main female character's point of view, either in a diary-form, or as though she is writing to someone else. I really want to explore men's treatment towards women in the Romanticism era.
2. I haven't figured out what works I want to use yet, but I want to emphasize the Romantic theme of focus on the individual and the mind. In this I will tie in our most recent unit about psychological analysis.
1. I want to create a piece of artwork (not quite sure what yet) or possibly a poem if my artistics talents aren't with me when im trying to make the project. 2. It about the "the world is too much with us" and the overall theme of how man takes advantage of nature. Also something along the lines of how nature is pure and man is impure.
2. it will be the scene from Wuthering Heights where Catherine lashes out and hits Edgar and will include many Romantic elements such as reconciliation of opposites as well as the idea of one’s persona & shadow
1. A poem/series of poems inspired by my Romantic painting "Ocean Riding on a Cat's Back"
2. From my research on William Blake, I noticed that many works of art were accompanied by a poem of sorts. The poem/series will have ties mainly to "The Tempest", but maybe "Prometheus" as well. The poem(s) will primarily focus on power, but also nature.
Musical composition on Faust. I think I might write a duet to show the relationship between Faust and Gretchen--how he passes on his madness or panic, age even, to her. And so it'll be programmatic., showing that aspect of the story. I may decide not do a duet, then I'd do it on something else in Faust, but that's what I'm thinking at this point if I can pull it off--I'll definitely do a composition on Faust, and something in that range of idea.
1. A painted mask inspired by my Romantic artist, Vernet.
2. At the end of my presentation I talked about the "Mask of Vernet", the work that inspired my idea. I am going to get a plain white opera style mask and express Romantic ideas on it through painting. In general it will connect to our entire Romantic art unit. I'm also going to make connections with some of the poems we read like Kubla Khan or some of Wordsworth's poems.
1. A rap song (to the form of Airplanes Part 2 by B.O.B. featuring Eminem and Hayley)
2. The rap will be from the perspective of the Frankenstein's creation. He will reflect upon his lack of parentage, companionship, the hardships of his life, basic needs, and connection with nature. A rap song for the creature is appropriate because, as I mentioned in my essay, the creature felt a special connection with music. However, due to his lack of instrumental tutelage and probable inability to carry a tune, a rap is the best he can do.
Anyways, 1. I am planning to do a one-man play for the class that will change their lives drastically in just six minutes. My plan for the play is to be concerning Heathcliff and a gravedigger when he requests to be buried next to Catherine and for their coffins to be opened. I plan to play Heathcliff, the grave digger and to create a narrative to be read by a classmate.
2. I plan to make this play to connect to Romanticism by using dialog akin to Emily Bronte's in "Wuthering Heights" and by connecting to Romantic themes such as Nature, passion and the supernatural. Also, I plan to enhance the performance with passionate, gut-wrenching acting and a true examination of a Byronic hero through my portrayal of Heathcliff.

When you're assigned a blog post I'm looking for depth of insight and engagement with the text or whatever topic we're exploring.
Insight doesn't mean you have to know everything, and often there may not be a "right" answer, it just means that you're delving beneath the surface, making connections, asking good questions, and pulling pieces (quotes and examples) from the text to support your ideas.
I also want you to read and respond to your peers' posts. Think of it as a collaboration and try not to simply repeat what others say but to reinforce, question, and expand on ideas. Finally, do your best with spelling and grammar, but don't stress about it- the blog is less formal- I want the ideas to flow!
**Don't forget to sign your first name at the end of your post so you can get credit for your amazing ideas!
